Humanities Council Grants
Grants are available to nonprofits through the New Hampshire Humanities Council to book Becky as part of their Humanities to Go program. She offers three different programs through the council, a humor program about the storytelling tradition called “That Reminds Me of a Story,” an oral history of the mills and logging and life in the north country called “Crosscut.” And “Moved and Seconded,” a talk about the nature and history of the grand New England political institution, our town meeting.
Book Becky Directly to Tell Stories to Your Group
Becky will happily come to your library, social group, private party, town hall, or event to tell stories. If you’re located more than 2 hours away from Northwood, NH (the center of her universe), you may be asked to provide overnight accommodation in additon to a (very reasonable) speaker fee and mileage (or air fare if you are very far away, like Hawaii). Email Becky or call her at 603-942-8174 to book directly.

Book a Keynote
Topic to be negotiated as well as fee. From this web site you’ll get an idea of some of the things she knows about — stories, New Hampshire, the writing life, finding humor in every day life. Don’t ask her to talk about repairing cars or neutering cats — she don’t know much about that stuff. Nor quantum physics.
Invite Becky to Your School
She loves to read to kids and talk about writing, help them with their writing or storytelling. She has visited classrooms at all levels, from Kindergarten to high school. She also taught writing at UNH for more than a decade, so she knows her way around a chalkboard, um, white board. She would love to design a program for your students. Workshops for teachers are also a possiblity to which she brings great enthusiasm. Becky Rule says “Teachers rule!”
Senior Centers, Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes
Trained as a hospice volunteer, Becky has a special affinity for the elderly. Older folks seem to relate well to her stories of times past. And, of course, they love to laugh. She can offer a stand-alone performance, but has also enjoyed multi-day residencies, telling and collecting stories, both written and spoken. Fees negotiable.
